Our Story
Before starting Second Century AG, our team members could be found launching global startups and nurturing local farms. Today, we have over six decades of agricultural experience—including a wildly successful 2019 harvest of 100+ acres of hemp in Tennessee. That grow helped solidify our plans and chart the blueprint for Georgia, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our insights, technology and passions to our home state.
Our farmer-first approach helps lower the entry cost and financial risk for Georgia farmers—while simultaneously elevating profits. The Second Century team is deeply involved from soil to shelf, enforcing high standards and controls to protect farmers from common issues like unharvestable yields. We bring extensive research, advanced operational analytics, exacting product testing, and truly local service to every step of the process. Simply put, we’re ready to make Georgia proud and profitable—one plant at a time.

Expertise From Soil to Shelf

Nursery + Genetics
No two farms are the same, and that’s a beautiful thing. We use variability to our advantage, pairing the perfect genetic strain to each type of soil. Every Second Century AG genetic formulation is backed by local and international research in hemp genetics, as well as the latest in soil testing for pH levels and existing soil contaminants. With our process, we calculate and create the right match for each plant and plot. Using these strong genetics, our nursery grows farmer–ready seedlings prepared for Georgia’s humid climate.

Farm Services
Our team is here from step one, providing the plant clones and cultivation assistance that fuel a successful grow. We embrace the latest in plant testing and pathology, lowering barriers for entry for farmers and helping maximize profit yields. Our teams manage hemp crops closely, ensuring low THC levels that always meet government regulations. Through rigorous internal testing and precise plant-to-plot matching, we protect famers from costly issues like “hot,” un-harvestable crops.

Process + Extraction
We don’t just believe in Georgia, Georgia believes in us. To date, we’ve secured $3 million in funding from the Georgia Agribusiness and Rural Jobs Fund. This fund, established by the Georgia General Assembly, brings flexible financing options to rural, small businesses. This financial standing has enabled us to open a 160,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Ocilla, GA. With our expansive Georgia HQ secured, we have everything we need to set precise controls and extract high percentages of CBD oil from each crop.
